How to Clean Awning Fabrics

Awning Fabrics

  • We use only high quality awning fabrics.

  • They all have about the same life span and have been treated to be water and mildew resistant.

  • Just about every color imaginable is available in both solids and stripe patterns.

  • When choosing an awning fabric in most cases the only important thing to remember is to simply choose the fabric that looks the best on your home or business.

Here are the most common fabrics that we use.

"Sunbrella" fabrics are a 45" to 47" wide 9.5 oz. per square yard solution dyed woven acrylic fabric with the same color or pattern on both sides.  There are over 100 solids and stripe patterns to choose from.  Sunbrella also has many 60" wide solid colors, too.

To view the many different Sunbrella colors and patterns visit the Sunbrella web site at http://www.sunbrella.com/na/en/awning.pl then click on the Fabric Showroom then select Awning Fabric.

"Calabana Cloth" is a 30" wide 15 oz. per square yard top coated vinyl on a 100% cotton duck fabric with a neutral pearl gray bottom side.  It has over 40 colors of solids and stripes.

"Gulfstream" is a 30" wide 13.8 oz. per square yard top coated acrylic on a  50% polyester and 50% cotton duck fabric with a neutral pearl gray bottom side.  It has over 30 colors of solids and stripes.

Vinyl Coated Polyester fabrics are used solely on welded frame awnings and usually have a solid valance or no valance. This type of fabric has a "plastic look".  Some are used with high powered florescent lights behind the awnings so they will glow at night, otherwise known as a "Back-lit awning".

"Nite-Lite" and "Ferrari 502" are just 2 of the vinyl coated polyester fabrics that we use.
